performanceSHIFTING THE CONVERSATION FROM COST PER WATT TO COST PER KILOWATT HOUR

  1. How do we harmonize performance metrics at the component level?
  2. What measures must we take to establish a uniform language that consistently depicts system performance?
  3. How do we ensure consistency with global standards such as IEC 61836, IEC 62446?

These are some of the pertinent questions addressed by SolarTech.

CASE STUDY: UL SOLAR PV LAB

In less than seven months the new UL facility was opened and equipped. By August, 2008, the first Silicon Valley start ups were receiving certification for new solar modules that promise to lower the cost and raise the performance of solar in the future. This is just one of the concrete results the SolarTech is committed to achieve across the industry.

CURRENT PROJECTS:

  • “Everyone’s Solar Manual” – A user guide for PV consumers
  • Means to calculate annual energy usage
  • Defines performance metrics used in the industry
  • Factors impacting system performance, e.g. location, shading, system components, etc
  • Provides an overview of installation and financing options
